City of Lanark Information
Lake Carroll is located in Lanark, IL. Established in 1861, Lanark is a beautiful, peaceful, rural community located in Northwest Illinois, in Carroll County. The city is known for its stately trees, historic, picturesque business district and magnificent homes, both old and new.

Lake Carroll is proud to be a part of the Eastland School District, known for its excellence in both academics, sports and extracurricular activities.
Eastland School District has two locations; the Elementary (Pre-k thru 5) is located in Shannon, IL and the Jr/Sr High School (6-12) is in Lanark, IL. It is approximately a ten minute drive between the two schools and both are equal distance from Lake Carroll.
Over 600 students are registered in the district. Approximately 100 students come from Lake Carroll in the 3 buses assigned to the Lake Carroll area. Eastland has a 100% graduation rate and is the highest rated High School in the local area. The High School has been ranked in the top 20% nationally. According to Great Schools, Eastland scored a 10/10 for college readiness and is above average in Illinois test scores. The PTO is very active, and the Athletic Club provides many activities for Elementary and Junior High students. Eastland is an 2A IHSA school and continues to produce State Championship victories in football, volleyball, basketball, track, band, wrestling, FFA, and more.
